The Stansfield 24/8 Learning System
Stansfield College employs the 24/8 System that allows a maximum of 24 students in a lecture and 8 students in a tutorial.
This encourages and facilitates better interaction and monitoring of students’ performance. Tutorials are conducted as a
follow-up to the lectures to ensure that students comprehend the topics covered by their lecturer. In this regard, tutorials also
provide students with the opportunity to clarify any doubts. In turn, the lecturers will evaluate the extent to which the
learning objectives have been met. In this sense, the small tutorial size allows students to be more proactively involved in
the learning process; and also for lecturers to better evaluate each student and their individual learning capabilities.
Stansfield PAL Learning System
The PAL Learning System allows all students to have a one-to-one consultation with the teachers to ensure they fully
understood the learning outcomes. The one-to-one coaching encourages students who are not vocal during their time in the
classroom to be able to voice out their views and ask questions. We find the system absolutely useful to anyone who wants
to reinforce their views on what they have learned or failed to learn in the actual lectures.

Intensive Revision Courses
The Intensive Revision Sessions are structured to be examination orientated and to refresh key points within each subject so
as to ensure students are well prepared for the actual University of London Examinations. Having finished the syllabi, the
Intensive Revision Sessions are usually held in the month of April, just slightly after the final Mock Examinations and a month
before the final University of London Examinations. On occasions faculty of the University of London are invited to conduct
these Intensive sessions and share useful examinations tips and techniques with our students.
Additional Academic and Pastoral Support
In the real world, people have to work alongside each other to achieve organisational goals and work place targets. Hence
students at Stansfield College are exposed to similar environments and are taught the skills needed for survival at the work
place, such as forming and working in a collaborative relationship. Study groups and individual lecturer consultations are
catered for students; and form the basis of our peer-to-peer teaching and learning at the College. Students are expected to
meet for an hour daily as group learning plays a fundamental part in our students’ individual and academic development.
Group learning also helps in the pooling of knowledge and the development of learning resources that enhance students’ drive
and motivation to learn and excel in their studies and life.We have both supervised and non-supervised study group sessions.
Lecturers, Tutors and Mentors usually rotate to conduct, assist and observe the supervised study group and to enhance as
well as motivate the group dynamics
